Who doesn't have a friend or acquaintance whose caravan or motorhome has been stolen from a car park or rest area?

So that this doesn't happen, here are some important tips to avoid them spoiling your holiday:

1.-Whether you own a caravan or a motorhome, prevent them from accessing the interior and stealing the contents, such as television, expensive sports equipment, technological devices, electrical appliances, etc... To do this it is important to install a door lock or safety door. Here are some examples.

Remember that it is very important to protect your caravan with an anti-theft system. Although it may seem obvious, most of the stolen caravans were found without any security devices.

 

And finally, a few general tips to keep in mind:

• Carry the original caravan documents in the car, never in the caravan. The reasons are obvious: if they end up stealing the caravan, don't make it easier for them by handing over the caravan's papers as well. Another good reason is that, if we are stopped by the police while we are on the road, we will be able to hand over both documents at the same time, without having to go into the caravan to get the papers.
• If you are on the road, make sure you don't "lose sight" of your caravan or motorhome.
• Attempt to spend the night in areas designated for this type of vehicle. Gas station areas are often an easy target for this type of theft.
• Take out comprehensive insurance for your vehicle, whether it is a caravan, motorhome or campervan. You will always have peace of mind knowing that you have full cover and that you will be assisted at any time.
