Back to school... and back on the road!
Tips for Travelling as a Family with Children
The Magic of the Road: Travelling by Motorhome with Children is Possible, Fun is Guaranteed!
With school back in full swing and the September routine fully settled, it's the perfect time to start planning those motorhome getaways with the kids. Travelling as a family is an amazing experience, but when there are kids involved, organisation is key so that no one gets bored (and you don't end up exhausted!). This month, we bring you a bunch of tips to make travelling in a camper or motorhome with kids a party on wheels.
Get your backpacks ready, we're taking off!
Entertainment in Motion
The journey itself is part of the adventure, and with children, you need to plan it well!
- Travel games: "I Spy", "Word Chains" or making up stories are classics that never fail. Also have some sticker books, activity books or stories to hand.
- Music and audiobooks: Prepare a playlist with their favourite songs or download audiobooks and children's podcasts - hours of entertainment guaranteed!
- Screens, in moderation: Tablets or mobiles can be a lifesaver at times, but try to use them sparingly to encourage interaction and observation of the landscape. Put them on films or series they can watch offline!

Space, Your Little Rolling Kingdom
The motorhome is a small space, but with a little ingenuity, it can be a child's paradise.
- Their special corner: Dedicate a small space for their toys or books. A small net or hanging bag can be a good organiser.
- Snacks at hand: Always have healthy snacks and drinks on hand to avoid the constant "I'm hungry".
- Playgrounds: When you arrive at your destination, if space allows, set up a small base camp with their mat, their favourite toys or even a small children's tent so they can have their own "camp".

Kids-Friendly Campsites: Your Fun-Paradise
Choosing where to spend the night is crucial when travelling with children.
- Swimming pools and slides: Many campsites are designed with children in mind, with spectacular swimming pools, water parks and playgrounds.
- Activities and entertainment: Some offer children's entertainment programmes, mini-clubs and workshops - do your research before you book!
- Nature and freedom: Opt for campsites or areas where children can safely run around, explore and be in contact with nature.

Extra Tips for a Stress-Free Adventure
- Flexible working hours: Try to keep a similar routine to home, but be flexible. Holidays are for relaxation.
- Frequent stops: Children need to stretch their legs. Plan short, frequent stops at service areas with parks or green spaces.
- Involve them: Involve them in planning the route, preparing the food or choosing the campsite. They will feel the adventure as their own.
- Children's emergency kit: In addition to the general first-aid kit, take your usual medicines, specific sunscreen, mosquito repellent and some cream for bites and bruises.
Travelling by motorhome with children is about creating memories that will last a lifetime. It's teaching them the value of adventure, flexibility and contact with nature. There may be moments of chaos, but the laughter and fun will more than make up for it!

We hope these tips will help you!
Happy kilometres with the family!
